This Month's Decluttering Ideas: June

Are you looking for some decluttering ideas to try out this month? If so, you are in the right place! Give one (or all) of these ideas a try to help you simplify!

Before we get into the list, if you are new to decluttering, you might benefit from my 10-Step Plan to Start Your Decluttering Journey. This is a free guide that helps you start decluttering the right way, and you get your copy by clicking here.

Misc Glove Compartment Items: Everyone stores different things in their glove compartments, such as a GPS, tissues, gloves, etc. However, what items are there that don’t need to be? Consider pulling everything out and only putting back the essentials.

Food You Bought That You Don’t Like: Whether you purchased a new food that you wanted to try or something you felt like you should eat but didn’t actually want to, let’s put it to use before it becomes food waste. See if someone else in the house (or even a neighbor) might want to eat it, or if you could include it in a different dish or recipe that might turn out better. Consider freezing perishable items to see if they would last longer, or consider adding ingredients to soups, smoothies, or pasta.

Duplicate Kitchen Utensils: Why hold onto multiple items that have the same exact function? Go through your utensils and pick out your favorite versions of each type. Once the extras are gone, your kitchen drawers or cabinets will have some extra space and feel less junky.

Broken Cords: It can be very difficult and dangerous to fix broken cords. If they’re unusable, there’s no reason to keep them around. See if they can be taken to a recycling facility near you (or even a store like Best Buy) to dispose of them properly.

Toiletries That Don’t Work For You: Sometimes we try a product for a while and realize it isn’t working for us. Before tossing it out, try using it up in an alternative way than what it was designed to do. This could be something as simple as using a conditioner you don’t like as shaving cream. It’s also possible you could send partially used products to homeless shelters or women’s shelters.
