5 Things to Declutter This Week: July 19
Happy Monday! I am back with another installment of Decluttering Ideas of the Week, which is my series where I provide 5 different decluttering ideas each week to help you stay motivated in your journey to declutter. To help you gain some decluttering motivation or inspiration this week, here is a list of 5 decluttering ideas for the week!
Dull/Low Quality Knives That Can’t Be Sharpened: If you have any knives that can’t be sharpened and are no longer working well, don’t let them clutter up your kitchen. If they are too damaged to be used by someone else, carefully tape them and wrap them before discarding.
Expired Kitchen Cleaning Products: When many things expire, they become less effective. Depending upon the kind of cleaning product, consider using them up first or disposing of them, whether that entails being run down the drain, tossed in the trash, or need to be taken to a specific disposal center.
Your Bedroom Nightstand: This depends on the person, but is your nightstand necessary? If it’s only there to trap clutter or other unnecessary items, it might not be the best thing to keep in your room. If you declutter it, it’ll not only open up some space but also stop clutter build-up. If you do find value in your nightstand, see if you can simplify what you store on top of it or inside it.
Perfume You Don’t Wear: If you haven’t worn it in a while, try to use up your perfume instead of tossing it. If you don’t want to wear it yourself, see if anyone you know would like it instead. Make a mental note the next time you shop for perfume to decide whether or not you’ll actually wear it in the future.
Extra Belts: Belts can be a necessary or cute accessory, but how many do we actually need? Go through what you have and see which ones you can declutter, whether they’re duplicates, falling apart, or ones you rarely wear. I have found one quality belt is all I need!
