5 Things to Declutter This Week: February 22
Excess Office Supplies: Who doesn’t love a good set of office supplies? (Or is it just the former teacher in me haha?) However, sometimes we overindulge and end up with too much. Try to use up what you can first, donate to schools or businesses in your area, and make a habit of replacing supplies only when you run out.
Time Spent on Social Media: There are tons of websites, streaming services, and social media platforms to use, and it can get overwhelming. If you feel you’re consuming too much media, try reducing your total time spent on these platforms or on screens, either for a short time or for more of a regular habit.
Gifts You’ve Received But Never Used: It can feel uncomfortable when you receive a gift you know you will never use, and you might feel guilty about getting rid of them. However, if you’re not getting anything out of them and don’t plan to use them, don’t keep them. Don’t let guilt control your actions, and break free from these negative emotions by regifting these items or donating them.
Old Paint: Paint can last a while, and if it separates you can often revive it by stirring it again. However, if it’s gotten to the point of drying out or looks very different now, it’s probably not optimal to put them on your walls or any projects you are working on. Open some space in your craft or tool area by disposing of these.
Extra Winter Gloves, Scarves, and Hats: While it’s important to stay warm when it’s cold out, how many of these do you actually need? Figure out which are the warmest or are your favorites, and donate the rest to people who need them.
