5 Decluttering Ideas of the Week: July 5
I hope your July is off to a great start! To give you some decluttering ideas or motivation for the week, here are 5 items you can declutter this week!
One-Time Clothing: Do you have any clothing that was only worn for one specific occasion or event, but hasn’t been worn again. Examples of this could include formalwear or a wedding dress. Do you plan on wearing these items again? If not, open up some closet space by selling them or donating them (there are some cool organizations that take old prom dresses, wedding dresses, and other formalwear, so be sure to look up options near you)!
Old Ink Cartridges: I used to have a bad habit of leaving old ink cartridges sitting around the house. I knew I needed to recycle them, but I wasn’t doing it. If you can relate to this, let’s stop putting off the inevitable and bring these to office supply or electronics stores, which usually have recycling programs.
Pet Food/Treats That Don’t Work For Them: Every pet is different and has different food needs. If they start eating foods that begin causing health issues or they won’t eat it, see if you can donate the rest to a shelter. Of course, take your pet to the vet if needed.
Awards/Memorabilia That Don’t Matter To You: Do you or your kids have any old awards or knick-knacks from school or certain events? If there are any of these that you forgot or don’t care about, get them out of your space. You could also take a picture of the award or your child holding the award before discarding, if you are looking to preserve the memory in another way.
Purse Clutter: What do you keep in your purse? If it seems really full or cluttered, dump it out and go through everything. Toss out any old receipts or garbage that built up, and reorganize whatever items you’re putting back in a system that works for you.
