5 Decluttering Ideas of the Week: February 15
I hope your February is going well so far! To give you some decluttering ideas or motivation for the week, here are 5 items you can declutter this week!
Cookbooks You Haven’t Used in a Long Time: Cookbooks can be very helpful, but are there ones you haven’t touched in a while? There are thousands of recipes online, so it might not even be necessary to keep them (or at least keep all of them). Take note of your favorite recipes, test new recipes out (if desired) and donate or regift them.
Disposable Silverware and Napkins: Many of these items can’t be recycled and usually end up in landfills. Use up what you have, but try to make a point to invest in reusable options instead. You’ll spend less money on replacements and make less waste! Even better, when getting takeout from your favorite restaurant, ask them to leave out these disposable items!
Baskets, Trays, and Other Clutter Traps: While these items can be useful for storage or home decor, they have the potential to enable us to keep extra (and unnecessary) items, simply because we have the space. Reflect about which ones truly add value and declutter the rest.
Stretched-Out Hair Ties and Other Hair Items: These are pretty small items, but they still count! Dispose of any hair ties that are no longer in great condition or don’t work as well anymore. Consider repurposing them or discarding them, and if needed, get some better replacements.
Shoes You Never Wear: Do you have shoes you never wear or only use for “special occasions”? Keeping these shoes only takes up space, and especially if they aren’t comfortable or only work with one look, there’s no reason to keep them around. Why not donate them?
